Initial Check Ride
Initial Check Ride
The 75th requires new pilots to already have a comprehensive understanding of the A-10C II. This checkride tests basic airmanship and teaches squadron standards.
IQT – Initial Qualification Training
IQT 1 – Systems & Ground Knowledge
In-depth discussion: the pilot demonstrates knowledge of all primary systems.
IQT 2 – Weapons Employment
Weapons employment and basic surface-attack principles.
IQT 3 – Threat Reaction & BFM
Open discussion on FSTR plus three rounds of 1v1 BFM.
MQT – Mission Qualification Training
MQT 1 – Mission Sets
Advanced BAI, SCAR, CSAR, and CAS fundamentals.
MQT 2 – Night Operations
VFR and basic instrument night flying, NVGs, and night tanking.
MQT 3 – IFR
Full instrument flying in poor visibility and other IFR mission operations.
Upgrade Qualifications
FLUG – Flight Lead
Lead elements and flights. Required for element or flight lead on missions.
FAC(A)
Command and control in a CAS environment (MISTY). Required to FAC(A) on missions.
CSAR Lead
Rescue Mission Commander (RMC) in CSAR. Required to fly as SANDY 1.
Instructor Pilot
Train newer pilots and grade checkrides.
